Jonathan's passion is for the local church and God's people. He values Christian community as an expression of the living power of Christ. Jonathan and his wife Tricia have three children: Matthew, Rebekah, and Benjamin.
Jonathan was raised multi culturally, and has ministered in repeated multidimensional contexts. Born in Honolulu, the son of Bill and Elizabeth Steeper, grew up in Ontario in a strong Christian family. He graduated from the Baptist Leadership Training School (Calgary, 1979), BA History from University of Western Ontario (1982), Masters of Divinity from Acadia University (1985) with the distinction of the governor's medal for theology. Presently he is in doctoral studies at Acadia University. He was assistant pastor at Wolfville Baptist, NS(1983-85), senior pastor at St. George Baptist, NB (1985-95), Canadian Baptist Missionary in Albania (1995-2003), and has been enjoying our people at Highfield ever since.
Pastor of Family Ministries - Rev. Troy Dennis
Ordained in 1995, Troy grew up on PEI and has served Baptist churches in Shelburne NS, Grand Manan NB, and Saint John NB. In addition, Troy is known for his writing through Tidings mission magazine and his personal blog at www.onfireletter.com. He is married to Jan, and they have two boys, Ian and Mark. Troy enjoys being outdoors to canoe, fish, hike, bike and camp. He also loves music and plays trumpet, bass, and acoustic guitar.
